Study-Related Decrees and Legislation

Education at the University of Tampere is organised in compliance with the Universities Act, its amending decrees and the University’s own rules and regulations.

The Universities Act contains basic provisions on the duties, administrative arrangements, degrees and education of universities. The decrees regulate degree higher education institutions' degree systems and specialisation studies, among other matters.

The University of Tampere Regulations on Degrees lays down the core principles and practices related to studying and the arrangement of studies. The University’s Regulations on the Assessment of Studies include stipulations on the evaluation of study attainments, the rectification procedure and the communication of results.

In addition to this, faculties have general regulations regarding their degrees, along with rules on transitions from older curricula to the new curriculum.
