Tampere University library collections

Textbooks required to complete course units at the university of Tampere are listed in the curricula.  Printed textbooks can be found in different Library units.  E-versions of textbooks are acquired if they are available. You can find both printed and e-books through TuniLib. For remote access log in TuniLib with your TUNI-id. See E-book guide for further instructions.

The Library offers both printed and electronic information resources to support studying and research such as e-journals, e-books, databases and electronic reference materials. You can use these as your source material in your written assignments, with proper referencing and citing. The university library has acquired RefWorks reference management tool to help you with proper citing and organizing your sources.

Using other libraries in Finland

You may also use Tampere City Library or other university libraries in the Pirkanmaa area by visiting them. You will need to acquire a library card for each library system to borrow materials. 

If you live somewhere else in Finland you can use local libraries. If you cannot find a book in your library,  there is a possibility to order books to your nearest library as interlibrary loans, but there is a fee for this service.

Students of the University of Tampere who study in the University Consortium in Seinäjoki or the University Consortium in Pori can use Tampere University Library, Seinäjoki Academic Library and UCPoriLibrary.

Please note, that in UCPoriLibrary there is mostly books for those subjects that are taught in Pori. These books are listed in TuniLib, to find printed books in PORI, limit to collection TAU Hervanta and Pori, UC Pori Library. Unfortunately all the textbooks required to complete course units are not available as e-books.
