Free Choice Studies

Free choice studies at the University of Tampere

As a degree student, you can relatively freely choose studies from the offering of your own faculty and other faculties. In addition to this, our university offers cross-faculty study modules which are well-suited to serve as free choice studies. Your free choice studies can include entirely optional courses or interchangeable courses, depending on the degree programme. Before, these have been referred to as freely available minor subjects.

Free choice studies at other institutions of higher education

Alongside your own university, you can complete free choice studies in other Finnish or foreign institutions of higher education through the Tampere3 cross-institutional arrangement, flexible study right (JOO) or network studies, for example.
