Ph.D. Alexis Stenfors is a Finn from the core of the boom and bust of the financial market. For 15 years he worked as an investment banker in the biggest banks in the industry (HSBC, Citi, Crêdit Agricole, and Merrill Lynch) until he was caught for perverting his portfolio. He caused 465 million euros of losses to his employer, lost his job and reputation, and settled on teaching economics and finance at the Portsmouth Business School.
Stenfors tells about the internal problems of the financial sector, including market manipulation, customer cheating, and boosted incentives on risk-taking. Upon his experiences, he has written the book Riskitekijä.
The talk is open to all free of charge. Welcome!
