Guest lecture by Professor Dorly Deeg. In the most European countries, life expectancy has been increasing. First, this lecture addresses the question of whether healthy life expectancy has been increasing at the same pace. Meanwhile, to compensate for rising pension costs, state pension ages are rising and thus our work forces are getting older. The second question addresses what this means for the work ability of older workers.
Deeg is a well-known expert in research on aging, health, and the social well-being of older people. She is the long-time scientific director of Longitudinal Ageing Study Amsterdam. Recently she is also interested in the process and impacts of retirement.
